Examination

This week I took it upon myself to fill most of my free time with hours of reading countless blogs from The World Race, which completely captivated me. Reading and watching videos of people following the Lord into the painful, hard, broken places of not only the world, but also their own lives excites me for the adventures God has in store for me now. But this has also challenged me to really start to examine my own heart more closely and confront the everyday habitual sins that consistently go unnoticed.

TUNE IN Tune in to Jesus, to His Word, and to His kingdom purpose for me specifically. He needs to be what moves me from one activity to the next everyday. He needs to be the only source of my energy and strength. …whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies–in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 4:11

PRAYER Praying makes such a huge difference–not to God’s Will, but to mine. Prayer creates a way for me to listen and speak to my Creator, and it is of UTMOST importance that we communicate constantly because He is my lifeline. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5: 16 Prayer is an avenue for joy, supplication, thanksgiving, and praise to flow through.

PURPOSE God has made me a certain way with specific passions and unique talents for a sole purpose: to glorify Him in the highest. This occurs wherever I am, no matter what I am doing. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2: 10 The journey is already mapped out, I must follow in faith one step at a time, stopping only when God tells me to, and, in those moments of rest–whether years, days, or hours–love wholeheartedly and testify to His grace unashamedly to whomever He leads me to.

Examining my heart consistently and candidly will require immense effort. It may be exhausting, scary, and discouraging, but I draw from the Well that never runs dry. My God’s grace is unceasing and his energy never ends.

And honestly, I’m so excited for what He has in store.
