These lyrics have been going around and around in my head like a Ferris wheel– I’ll listen to them one time round, and as soon as I get to the end, it is necessary to listen to them again, and again, and again.
And I have no idea why.
They aren’t incredibly profound words that make me think deep thoughts, they aren’t full of pure theology, or tell an emotional story; however, they are beautifully put together, and offer a unique twist to a perspective of beauty I’ve never heard before.
Oh I’ve got to say you make Solomon’s ashes Dance from the grave with your beauty and grace Oh I’ve got to say I am constantly shaking Like waves from the sea I am moved by your faith Oh I’ve got to sayDon’t take for granted what you got honey, rock honey You are the heiress to my throne Strong enough to be a king’s lady, please baby Don’t leave me standing here alone
Does a more legitimate means of telling someone she’s physically beautiful exist? That Solomon’s ashes dance from the grave because of it?
To move someone like sea waves– relentlessly, invigoratingly, deeply through my faith… This Grace-given gift of ultimate love and purification, that God could use that to shake someone soul-deep… Especially a future man, but not even just him, all those around me, that they may see the real Beauty that graces my heart, His beloved’s…
I can’t take this for granted, honey, He’s created me to rock it. My faith, a gift that sustains my every breath, did not transform me into someone who desires to hide it. Jesus put it there for me to rock it, so to speak. To rock to the beat of His heart, to stand steadfast on Him, the Rock of Ages.
I exist as an heir to an unshakable Kingdom, the daughter of the King of kings. As such, I know that I am absolutely valuable and important, the way I express my faith being the evidence of this. God’s given me the grace to dance and move and rock, He’s the power in me to do so, and if the waves of His glory in that shake up someone else’s world, what a privilege.
(I do not know the actual intent behind this song. This post is the message I received from it.)
