The stars are PRESENT and accounted for

As I gazed up at the stars tonight, God pointed something out to me in the most beautiful fashion. If I looked out at the vast multitude of stars, I could see far and wide how many there are, and I could know that they expand farther and wider than I could ever imagine. BUT, if I focused my eyes on just one star, dozens more appeared around it.

God’s immense blessings in my life appear in the same way. Just looking at the macro image of my life, I can see so clearly how He has blessed me in the past and how absolutely He will bless me in the future, according to the promises in His Word.

However, rather than only fixing my eyes on the large-scale, prominent blessings in my life, I fix my eyes on the present, I will be constantly blown away by the bajillion micro-blessings surrounding me all the time.

In this way, I don’t miss the splendor and wonder of the day. Every single day is a miracle to stand in awe of, to cherish, and to rejoice in the One who gave it to me.

“Look up into the heavens. Who created all the stars? He brings them out like an army, one after another, calling each by its name. Because of his great power and incomparable strength, not a single one is missing.” (Isaiah 40:26)
