1. snow days Two snow days down and two glorious spring days less. The love/hate relationship here exists in that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed a four day weekend full of good food, naps, and conviction, yet in a little over three months I will be trudging to school on what are sure to be the most beautiful spring days of the century. But alas, choosing to enjoy the present is so much better than dreading the future.
2. truth As opposed to lies, truths are quite refreshing and wonderful. Getting full doses of it these last few days has been like mouthfuls of delicious desert. I am taking in a lot of conviction from a lot of different sources in my life, and the various biblical and spiritual truths accompanying it have created a minor 2.0 earthquake in my being.
3. silence The kind where I can hear my mind think and my heart beat. The kind when my breath is loud and the wind yells as I run. The kind that insists while my soul takes in all my mind has heard. Silence cultivates listening and listening cultivates silence: a congruency deepened with faith and dependency that I never wish to go deaf to.
4. writing Blogs, prayers, ideas, quotes, goals, notes, letters, writing is a fundamental part of my life and my sanity. It provides clarity and grace–two gifts not easily stumbled upon in this world. It has carved out discipline and decisiveness in my day-to-day. Writing isn’t something I chose, however more and more I hope it has been chosen for me.
