1. writing in my Bible Every time I read a passage of Scripture that has my own thoughts and feelings written beside it, I get the chance to remember back on what catalyzed those thoughts and why they affected me so strongly. I love rereading the prayers and praise I’ve scrawled throughout my Bible because they continually attest to His faithfulness and worthiness.
2. sunny and 75 It is January 27th and my car’s thermometer read 77 degrees. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow. What an incredible, rare gift this was today. Injury-free and joy-filled I ran today, and I’m so grateful. He knows me perfectly and loves me well. I could feel that today in the sunshine and sweat.
3. studying with friends The better side of the coin is the “friends”, not the “studying”. Late-night study dates not only harvest laughter and a caffeine-buzz, but also (some studying) and memories I know I will all-to-soon look back on with a sad heart. Studying with my current friends is comfortable and sweet, something I can count on and invest in, and knowing that the investment is almost up…hurts deep.
4. my photos I have a copious collection of photos surrounding me all. the. time. Beside my bed, on my walls, in the bathroom, on my phone, on my computer, everywhere. Photos, to me, are similar to thoughts because they whisper quiet the words I have yet known how to say. They are more evidence of God’s fingerprints all over my life, even in the context I fail to remember.
